Senior Pastor Bertrand Philippe

Biography:

Born on December 19, 1950 in Croix des Bouquets, not far from Port-A-Prince, Haiti. I experienced a happy childhood, surrounded by my dear parents and my siblings. I completed my primary education at the Institut Mixte Carl Brouard and my secondary education at the Lycée Anténor Firmin, both located in Port-Au-Prince.

I received the call of the Lord, and I was baptized with water and spirit at the Church of God, located at 73, Rue du Centre in Port-Au-Prince. Having thus become a passionate of the Word of God, the Holy Spirit anointed me and bestowed upon me many gifts. These gifts allowed me to boldly proclaim the Good News with courage, in order to bring back to God the souls lost to His Admirable Light.

In view of the way in which the Spirit of God used me in ministry, several churches in the region heard about it, and they invited me to preach the Good News of Christ’s Salvation.

A few weeks after my conversion, I received a Revelation from God, directing my steps towards theological studies. God having manifested himself miraculously, under the aegis of the Holy Spirit, I was able to begin my theological studies at Radio Lumiere at their campus located in Carrefour, then I proceeded to Gospel Crusade Association Mission at Delmas, and then Seminary of the Church of God, located in Bourdon.

Professing in Faith, and serving The Lord faithfully, God, who is rich in goodness, has placed in my path His young servant, sister Mary Elinie. At the age of fifteen, she accepted Christ. Filled with the Spirit, and living in the fear of God, she faithfully served The Lord. One of the memorable dates of my life is July 20, 1974, when God united us in the sweet bonds of marriage. This union was blessed by the birth of 3 children: a son and two daughters.

ORDINATION - I was ordained a Pastor Evangelist by the Mission "Gospel Crusade Association Mission". My works in the ministry have been, and still are, very fruitful, by the Grace of God. I led the Gospel Crusade Association Mission Church of Cité Militaire. I have had missionary activities in 5 other cities in Haiti: Terre Neuve, Pointe des Mangues, Bonal, Corridon, and Hinche.

During the year 1978, God moved us, my family and me, to the United States of America. We ended up in New Jersey, continuing to work in the vineyard of the Lord with the same zeal for the spread of the Gospel of Grace.

From 1981 to 1999, I worked in collaboration with Pastor Charles Réjouis in the Mission Mount Olives Church of God. In 1988, I was appointed, according to God's will, as the Pastor of the Mount Olives Church of God Congregation in Houston, Texas. By obeying the command of God, I continue to work, independently of mission, in the work of The Lord.

Presently, I pastor L’Eglise de Dieu Haïtienne, located at 2340 Barker Oaks Drive, Houston, Texas  77077. Back in 2005, our Congregation established another Church in the Dominican Republic, in the city of Santiago.

During my 48 years in the work of The Lord, I have had to face persecutions of all kinds, and I am glad to have suffered for the cause of the gospel. “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”  (Rom 8:37)

In the year 2012, I abandoned my personal activities to dedicate myself completely to the work of The Lord, committing myself to suffer, even die if necessary, for the cause of the Gospel. For us who believe, "death is a gain." "For if I proclaim the gospel, it is not for me a subject of glory, but the necessity is imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach the gospel" (1 Corinthians 9: 16).

Thus, I extend my hands in collaboration with all the workers and members of the Christian Community. We are ready to receive and spiritually assist in The Lord, all the Haitian friends and brothers living in Houston and the neighboring cities. May the Peace and Grace of God be with you! To God be Glory and Honor, but to us be Grace.
